Mr Benedict CHEONG
Chief Executive
Temasek Foundation International, Singapore
Benedict CHEONG is the Chief Executive of Temasek Foundation International (based in Singapore), a non-profit philanthropic organisation set up by Temasek Holdings Singapore to foster international exchange and enhance regional capabilities in Asia and beyond. Before this, from 1998 to 2007, Mr Cheong was the Chief Executive Officer of the National Council of Social Service of Singapore that has the main role of providing leadership and direction to the social service sector in Singapore. He also worked in Singapore Government from 1982 to 1998, where he held various operational and staff appointments in the Singapore Police. Mr Cheong currently serves on a few Singapore government committees and panels – focusing on the health sector.
Dr Johanna ANNALA
PhD, Senior lecturer, Docent/Adjunct Professor
Faculty of Education and Culture, Tampere University, Finland
Johanna Annala has a PhD in education and master’s degree in social sciences. She is a senior lecturer (university pedagogy) at Faculty of Education and Culture, Tampere University, Finland, and a co-leader of research group Higher Education in Transition (https://research.tuni.fi/het). ). She has a title of docent (adjunct professor), in the field of teaching in higher education at the University of Turku, Finland. In 2019, she was a visiting scholar at the University of Melbourne, Australia, for four months, and since 2016, she has been several times a visiting professor in RMUTT in Thailand. She has given more than 30 invited lectures about the role of curriculum in higher education for staff members in the research universities and universities of applied sciences. Annala and her team were granted Teaching Award of the year 2018, by the teaching council of the University of Tampere, because of the successful implementation of the research-teaching nexus in university pedagogical activities. Annala’s research focus on curriculum and engagement, but especially on curriculum change in higher education. In her work, she elaborates critically contemporary trends in higher education, but also tries to find meaningful and theoretically elaborated solutions for academic practice.
Dr Nattapong NITHI-UTHAI

Dr. Nattapong Nithi-Uthai has received MS and PhD in Polymer Science and Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, USA. He has a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Chulalongkorn University. He is a researcher and lecturer at Rubber Tech and Polymer Science Department, Faculty of Science and Technology, Prince of Songkhla University at Pattani. With his expertise in Polymer Science, rubber parts from old shoes, boat fenders and side protectors are converted into reusable raw materials. The recycling process includes reducing them to fine particles and putting them through a heated press to make rubber mats to be used as a raw material for his Tlejourn sandals and other ocean-friendly creative new products to tackle ocean debris problem. He also leads a volunteer-based non-profit organization, Trash Hero, to do weekly clean up around the world and educate public about waste management and zero waste lifestyle.
